She has vast experience, maintaining and renovating 14 homes, spanning 7 states. Her contemporary approach transforms a traditional home into a kaleidoscope of color and hues that continually evolve.
She is available for consultation worldwide.
Dr. Greeley arrived in the U.S.A. in 1958 with only $13.00 in her pocket. She was originally hired as housekeeper, cook and nanny for 3 children in New Bedford Massachusetts. Three weeks after her arrival, she presented her employers with a oil painting of a Vermeer painted on a gold tray. She was an expert at copying old masters. Recognizing this, her new employers provided her with a studio and work bench and she developed her artistic creative ability during her free hours.
Margareta created a sideline business which revolved around buying 14 dilapidated houses to renovate and sell. She was a pioneer in the house flipping business, before it became 'trendy'! The first such venture won the National Award Home in the Realtors Directory of America. This business, launched when her son was 3, financed her American education. After attending 11 different Universities, due to family relocations, over a fifteen year period, she earned her Bachelors degree. This was followed by another 3 years study to acquire her Masters and another 11 more years at Rutgers University to attain her Doctorate. Not long after graduating with a PhD, her husband admonished; "You can't keep copying masters forever...you need to create something more original. " That's when Dr. Greeley expanded her search for creativity by developing a new artistic method named, "Drawing on Your Creativity" which utilized four specific thought processes that improves and fortifies creative ability. These 4 thought processes are;
1. Convergent thinking
2. Divergent thinking
3. Janusian thinking
4. Homospatial thinking
As an effective combined tool for creativity these thought processes have been statistically measured by a team of expert statisticians from Rutgers University.
These thought processes are leveraged today for developing her unique and innovative approach for interior/exterior house renovation and design in addition to oil painting and sculpture. Her work has been featured on the New Jersey Television Network and major international corporate headquarters such as AT&T, Dunn & Bradstreet, Panasonic, Bell Labs and Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. Her art can also be seen in private collections worldwide from Sweden to Mainland China.
